Columbus City Council Has Approved The Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area in the Arena District

Columbus City Council has approved a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) in the Arena District.

The DORA will encompass Nationwide Arena, Huntington Park, and the New Crew Stadium. The designated areas will allow residents to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating bars and restaurants and then take those drinks with them outside and into other participating eateries and retail shops within the designated area.

Patrons will be able to enjoy an alcoholic beverage in the designated area during all home Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Clippers, and Columbus Crew game days, beginning three hours prior to the start of the game and continuing until 11:59p on that same day.

The DORA will go into effect this fall. While the original proposal called to include McFerson Commons Park, Neil Avenue, and Spring Street, they have been excluded from the DORA due to resident concerns.
