COSI’s New Mythic Creatures Exhibit Is Wondrous And Weird

A kraken, a dragon, and a unicorn all walk into a room…

Just kidding. They may not be strolling around, but these massive recreations are still incredibly impressive.

They’re all a part of COSI’s newest exhibit, Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns and Mermaids. The exhibit shows the connection between history’s legendary creatures and the actual animals that may have inspired them.

When you visit COSI, you’ll need to add the exhibit onto your General Admission ticket. It costs an extra $5, but if the squeals I heard while walking through of delighted children are any proof, it’s an amazing experience.

The exhibit starts with a look at Creatures of the Deep, including the kraken, sea monsters, mermaids, and more.

After that, you can meander through Creatures of the Earth, including unicorns, griffins, and everyone’s favorite primate, Big Foot.

Up next is Creatures of the Sky, which takes a closer look at the Asian Phoenix and the Pegasus.

Finally, you can explore the legend of one of the most fearsome creatures, the dragon, in Creatures of Power.

COSI is located at 333 W. Broad Street. They’re currently open Wednesday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours change on March 22. Ticket prices and other information can be found here.

Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns and Mermaids will be open until September 2. For more info, please click here.
