COSI may be closed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get your science on.
I know that no online experience compares to the sheer joy of exploring COSI in person, but this comes pretty close. COSI is offering a new online program called COSI Connects. Every day, new content is posted for your kiddos to engage with, from demonstrations and science discovery to interactive activities.
In addition to the videos and activities, there are also some virtual tours available, including the incredible American Museum of Natural History Dinosaur Gallery. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out in person, now is the chance to see the exhibit from the comfort of your own home.
COSI Connect is a free service that everyone can access by visiting their website, no membership required!

Videos posted so far have included topics like exploring the ocean floor and how animals camouflage themselves. One of my favorite daily activities COSI has put out thus far is a small experiment that parents can do at home that explains how soap helps to get rid of germs. This experiment is geared toward early childhood learners, but the activity pack also includes lessons on the same topic for older kids as well.

During times like these, resources like the ones COSI are offering are a great way for parents to encourage at-home learning, as well as keep kids engaged. If you’d like to learn more about COSI Connects, you can sign up here.
