Ready for a new experience at the Columbus Zoo?

This summer, the Tidal Twist roller coaster will make its debut at the zoo. This brand new, family rollercoaster will be the first of its kind here in Ohio. The coaster comes in at 36 feet tall and will reach speeds up to 30 miles per hour.

It’s called the Tidal Twist for a reason, friends. That’s right! This roller coaster spins. Halfway through the ride, the vehicles “unlock” and spin through the remainder of the ride. Tidal Twist will have some ride requirements. Kids can ride alone if they’re over 48″ tall and with an adult if they’re over 42″.

The coaster will be open in June, joining the classic Sea Dragon wooden coaster. Tidal Twist is located at the front of Adventure Cove, right across from the seal and sea lion habitat. If that location sounds familiar, it’s because the Tidal Twist is replacing the old Redwood Falls log ride.

A ride on the coaster will be included for all Gold Members. Non-members can purchase individual ride tickets or hope on through the ZooMore ride wristband. For more information about the rides at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, please click here.
