The annual Columbus Jazz & Rib Fest this year, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things to celebrate this summer.
Columbus Recreation and Parks will be hosting two city-wide opportunities to get out and enjoy the warm weather. Jazz & Rib Fest BBQ Week and Park Pop-ups will provide the Columbus community a chance to celebrate local businesses and performing artists.
Park Pop-Ups will be held each Saturday in June, July and August at parks throughout the city and will offer some free local entertainment. Jazz & Rib Fest BBQ Week will be held July 19-25 and will feature a variety of grilled, smoked and spit-roasted foods at participating restaurants, tap rooms, and food trucks.
“These innovative programs are a great way to safely offer events that engage residents while supporting local businesses and artists,” said Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther. “The last year has been challenging for our community, and while things will look a little different, I’m excited we are able to safely bring back some great summer traditions that help residents connect with each other while supporting our local economy.”
Park Pop-Ups kicked off on on June 5 and they will continue every Saturday through August 28. The festivities will be on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be over 200 Park Pop-Ups throughout the summer and there isn’t a specific schedule. These pop-ups are designed to be a surprise for park visitors so be on the lookout while visiting your local parks.
