Whether you’re searching for the perfect fun run for your child or a challenging 10K for yourself, there are tons of opportunities to get outside and hit the pavement.

For the little ones, fun runs often accompany major races, meaning your kids don’t just have to stand on the sidelines anymore. The Great Amazing RaceChoo Choo Fun Run, Bunny Run, Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis, and the EleFUN Run at the Zoo 5k are all great options for the younger racing participants.

With races for a variety of causes, Columbus has tons of ways to not only exercise but give back while you’re doing it. Step Up for Stephanie’s Champions supports the Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer research with both a 4-mile race and a 1-mile walk. AIDS Walk Ohio offers a variety of walks and races, including a 5k run, a 1 and 5k walk and a 20-mile bike ride! Of course, the largest spring charity race in Columbus is Race for The Cure, a breast cancer awareness event that brings thousands of participants to downtown every year.

For the more experienced runners, spring in Columbus is the perfect time to participate in a 10K or half/full marathon. The Ohio Health Cap City Half Marathon, Columbus 10K and Dirt of The Earth Half Marathon & 10K Trail Race are all established races with unique courses and plenty of perks. This year also marks the 1st Annual Hilliard Classic, which offers a half-marathon as well as 10K and 5K races.
