Celebrate Earth Day With The Columbus Outdoor Trails Pass

The best way to celebrate Earth Day is to get out there and enjoy our own little corner of the planet.

The Columbus Outdoor Trails Pass is a collaborative experience from Experience Columbus and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) and it’s the perfect way to celebrate Mother Nature.

Visitors to Columbus and us weathered locals can learn more about the pass by stopping by Experience Columbus’ Mobile Visitor Center during Celebrate Trails Day taking place during Green Columbus’ Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Genoa Park in downtown Columbus.

The earth-focused festivities are free and open to the public, starting at noon and ending at 7 p.m. Activities include guided walks starting at 1 p.m., health screenings and favorite local street food vendors offering a taste of the city and drinks.

If you want to explore the city on two wheels instead of two feet, you can bring your bike and take part in a family-friendly ride at 2 p.m. If you can’t bring your own bike, CoGO bikes will be available to rent.

Live performances by your favorite local artists will be going on all day, with Orion and the Constellations, Daniel Dye and the Miller Road Band, Honey and Blue, and George Barrie Band all taking the stage.

The Columbus Outdoor Trails Pass is a great way to motivate yourself to get out and explore. By checking in along the trails through the virtual passport, you’ll be entered to win a $100 gift card to Columbus businesses and restaurants. Participants can hike, bike, jog, or even paddle to various stops.

There are 22 different outdoor experiences featured on the Columbus Outdoor Trails Pass. Some can be found in the heart of the city, while others require you to adventure out into some of Central Ohio’s beautiful rural areas.

You can sign up for the trail pass in advance of this weekend’s event by visiting ExperienceColumbus.com/OutdoorTrails. Have fun exploring, Columbus!
