It’s no secret that we are admirers of beautiful buildings in Columbus.
Whether it’s college campuses, high schools, or churches, we’re always content to marvel at architectural beauty. Downtown Columbus is home to both historically and architecturally significant churches, and the Columbus Landmarks Foundation wants to show you around the most stunning locations during their Hallelujah Holiday Tour of Churches on December 7th.
The walking tour will include four of the city’s most impressive sacred places. During the tour, guests will learn about their architectural history, enjoy live music, and learn about how congregations care for the iconic buildings.
The four churches on the tour are:
1. First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St.
2. St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 E. Broad Street
3. Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 E. Broad St.
4. Broad Street United Methodist Church, 501 E. Broad St.
Your journey will kick off at First Congregational Church at 2:00 p.m. Participants are strongly advised to wear comfortable walking shoes for the one-mile trip and to dress appropriately for the weather. If you would like to drive to the four destinations, there is limited on-street or nearby parking at each stop. Additionally, all four churches are ADA accessible.
The tour will finish at Broad Street United Methodist Church, where coffee and Christmas cookies will be waiting. For more information, or to reserve your spot, please visit the Columbus Landmarks Foundation website.
