Closed Columbus: Winter Weather Is Causing Closures Throughout The City

In anticipation of Winter Storm Landon, businesses and organizations around Columbus are closing.

Several school districts have canceled all classes for Thursday, including Columbus City Schools. You can view a full list of school closures right here.

But grade school kids aren’t the only ones without class. Ohio State University has canceled in-person instruction on Thursday, although the campus will remain open. OSU has only canceled classes due to weather 18 times since 1978.

Otterbein University, Capital University, CCAD, Columbus State Community College will also close for the day.

Several local businesses have closed for the storm, including the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, The Ohio History Center, BalletMet, and more. Depending on how bad the storm is, we should probably all be avoiding travel when possible.

If you have to go out, check out social media or call ahead to see if your destination is even open. The timing and intensity of the storm will determine if closures will continue into Friday, so we’ll keep this post updated throughout the duration of the storm.
