Cirque Du Soleil Will Be Swinging From The Chandeliers At The Schott This April

During the fall of my freshman year of high school, I started watching my first ever reality show.

Sure, I had seen bits here and there of Survivor and American Idol, but I had never been as engrossed by a reality show until I saw Cirque du Soleil: Fire Within on Bravo. At the time, the show was following the current cast, which was Varekai.

I had never seen anything like it. I always thought circuses were old and boring with sad animals and gross candy. But this, it changed everything. It was artistic and graceful. It made you think and feel. It was art disguised as a fun night out.

Cirque du Soleil was founded in 1984 in Montreal, Canada. For the past three decades, they’ve had innovative aerobatic shows that have pulled in audiences and earned accolades. Once again, the opportunity to see one of these amazing performances live is coming to Columbus.

Cirque du Soleil: Corteo is a festive parade as imagined by a clown. It’s spontaneous and funny, two things the company has always managed to do well. The show also highlights the clown’s imperfections, his wisdom, his fragility, and his kindness, in an effort to illustrate the humanity that’s in all of us.

Corteo will be at the Schottenstein Center April 12-15, 2018. Tickets start at $39 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
