Let’s get our festival on Columbus!

If you’re like me you can’t get enough of this city’s community festivals. If only there were a definitive calendar of all those awesome local art and brewery jamborees, that way we could keep the party going all year long. I got your back Columbus, so check it out and get those baja hoodies ready, it’s gonna be a long year guys.


Camp Lazarus Maple Festival

March 4th and 11th
Hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, not only is there a pancake feast, but there are various  outdoor activities including BB gun shooting

Hoopla in the Hills
This family friendly bluegrass festival offers continuous performances for this three day event as well as food and craft items

Avant Garde Art and Craft Show
March 25th
Local artisans showcase their eclectic crafts. A portion of all proceeds go to local charities

OSU African American Heritage Festival
March 25th-31st
This years festival centers around “Madhumuni”, the Swahili word for purpose. The theme for this year is “Finding power in our purpose!”

Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour U.S.
March 30th, 31st & April 1st
A 3 day showing of outdoor adventure films that include BASE jumping, biking, snowboarding and climbing


Ohioana Book Festival
April 8th
A festival celebrating Ohio authors and literature. A free event that includes open panel discussions with authors as well as activities for children

Columbus Ohio Film and Video Festival
April 19th-23rd
The oldest film festival in the United States, featuring submissions from students and professionals from across the world.

Hell City Tattoo Festival
April 28th-30th
Includes artist competitions, seminars, and a burlesque show

Gluten- Free Food Allergy Fest
April 29th and 30th
Showcases a variety of gluten free products and cooking ideas. Anyone curious about the gluten-free lifestyle is welcome to come



Central Ohio Folk Festival
May 6th and 7th
Sponsored by the Columbus Folk Music Society that features live music as well as teaching opportunities

Columbus Asian Festival
May 27th and 28th
Celebrating Asian culture through events and activities. Includes food vendors, a marketplace, and culture exhibits


St. Michael Festival
June 2nd-4th

Columbus Arts Festival
June 9th-11th
Featuring the work of artists from across the nation, as well as live music, fine food, as well as activities and programs for kids.

June 10th
A 5k walking event aimed at raising awareness and funding for mental illness

Film Festival of Columbus
June 15th-18th
Showing both veteran and novice filmmakers, this festival focuses on filming in the city. This is its sixth year running

World Naked Bike Ride
Since 2004 this global event has been promoting the dangers of greenhouse gasses as well as bicycle safety. There are no clothing requirements and anyone willing is allowed to participate.

Juneteenth Ohio Festival
Celebrate the emancipation of African American slaves through drum circles and live gospel and enjoy a host of food vendors

Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival

Held at Gahanna’s Creekside park, this festival boasts some of the best live jazz in Ohio. There are amusements and activities for the whole family

St. Christopher’s Parish Festival
June 17th and 18th

Tater Tots and Beer Festival
June 17th
This festival combines the simple pleasures of craft beer and tater tots to make one very memorable celebration of food and fun

Grove City Wine and Arts Festival
June 17th
Local wineries and food trucks make this a big draw for out of towners. Shuttle service to and from local hotels will be provided

London Strawberry Festival
June 19th
Not only will there be plenty of strawberry shortcake but also a cobra car show benefitting Cystic Fibrosis as well as other nightly entertainment

June 23rd-25th
Created with the expressed purpose of drawing the city’s communities together, comfest will be hosting a variety of musical performances as well as craft vendors and a beer tent

Hilltop Bean Dinner
A family friendly community festival commemorating the history of Columbus’ west side. Despite the name there will be a variety of food besides the traditional bean dishes

Columbus Shamrock Club Music Festival
A day of traditional Irish music with 3 stages and 10 live bands. Hosted by the Shamrock Club of Columbus

Good Guys PPG Nationals
Come check out the hotrods and classic muscle cars at this car show. Activities include races, displays, and over 6,000 cars to check out

Columbus Black Theatre Festival
A 3 day event displaying the talents of local black actors and playwrights

Musicians Against Childhood Cancer Bluegrass Festival

July 21st-23rd
Jazz and barbecue combine for this Columbus summer tradition. Teams compete for the honor of “Best Ribs” while some of the best local live jazz talent sets the mood for a day of fun and food.

The Color Run
July 22nd
A 5k run that focuses mainly its participants having a good and memorable time. At each kilometer, runners are doused with a variety of different colors and afterwards they’re treated to a festival at the finish line
