These 16 Central Ohio Nonprofits Just Got $129,000

The CareSource Foundation has dished out $378,000 to 55 Ohio nonprofits so far this year.

It doled out $129,000 in grant money to 16 nonprofits in the Central Ohio area — specifically Columbus, Chillicothe, and Delaware. The foundation has awarded grant money to nonprofits since 2006.

The CareSource Foundation gives money to nonprofits dedicated to fighting poverty and providing services to low and moderate-income families, as well as improving communities. The foundation is affiliated with the Dayton-based CareSource company, which offers managed health care plans to those on Medicaid.

“The CareSource Foundation enables us to transcend standard health care and reach into our local communities to better understand and fulfill their needs. Our grantees have become outstanding partners in our work to eradicate poverty and create healthier families and communities,” Cathy Ponitz, vice president of the CareSource Foundation, said in a news release.
