BrewDog’s Short North Pub Is Finally Open

BrewDog opened their newest bar in the heart of the Short North over the weekend.

The bar is the first stand-alone pub for the Scottish brewers in the United States. But it won’t be alone for long. A Franklinton location is set to open in May and the company is already looking for expansion opportunities elsewhere in the Midwest.

Like the DogTap, the pub attached to their U.S. brewery in Canal Winchester, guests won’t find any televisions in the Short North bar, located at 1175 N. High St. Opening day at the bar was crowded, to say the least. After a few minutes of waiting outside for some people to leave, we were allowed to go in. It’s no exaggeration to say that there were people from wall to wall.

It took a bit to get a beer ordered, but not as long as it could have with all of the guests inside. After ordering, the drinks were ready in just a few minutes and we were ready to find a place to call our own.

The bar features all of the signature quirks BrewDog fans have come to know and love, including the custom artwork throughout the space. In addition to a great beer selection, the bar also offers a small menu of pizzas and a few appetizers.
