Two Columbus Eateries Made OpenTable’s Top 100 Brunch List

It’s always nice when local spots get the attention they deserve.

Every year, OpenTable releases a list of the Top 100 Brunch Spots in the U.S. This year, four Ohio restaurants made the cut: Two in Cleveland, and two here in Columbus.

OpenTable offers reviews, reservations, and even perks and restaurant discounts. According to their website, the Top 100 list is generated from over “12.9 million verified OpenTable diner reviews collected between March 1, 2021 – February 28, 2022. All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. The overall score is made up of unique data points, such as overall diner rating, user klout, total number of reviews, and regional overall rating. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of reviews, for which “good for brunch” was selected as a special feature.”

The list came out just in time for Mother’s Day, which is expected to bring big crowds to restaurants this year. Data from OpenTable shows that Mother’s Day reservations are up 39% compared to pre-pandemic 2019 and 13% compared to 2021.

So which two restaurants got the best brunch reviews in town? Lindey’s in German Village and The Pearl in Dublin. Having had the pleasure of eating brunch at both of these spots, I can say that they definitely live up to the hype.

Lindey’s has been serving up delicious food in style for decades, so it’s no surprise that they’ve made the cut. The Pearl in Dublin may be newer, but it has certainly made a name for itself quickly.

No one ever needs an excuse to have an incredible brunch, but if you’re planning on treating your mom for Mother’s Day at either of these restaurants, you may have to plan for a belated celebration. There are a few reservations left for the holiday weekend, but don’t feel too bad. I can guarantee your mom won’t mind seeing you another weekend as well.
