There’s a new burger joint in town.
If a delicious, affordable burger is calling your name, head directly downtown to Belly Burger. The casual, street-art inspired building that houses Belly Burger is located at 26 N. High Street, right in the heart of downtown Columbus.
With it’s close proximity to so many daily workers, it’s safe to assume that the place gets pretty busy around lunchtime. But if you’re heading out on your lunch break in search of a salad, Belly Burger is not the restaurant you’re looking for.
“It’s comfort food for food. It’s definitely not for people that are looking to eat healthy,” said General Manager Shelly Haynes. “It’s for people that want some really good food at a pretty cheap price.”
And it is affordable. The menu is simple, offering single, double, and triple burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, sides of fries, both boozy and regular milkshakes, and a special Cheerwine Slushie.
You can’t really go wrong with such a direct and simple menu, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t menu favorites. “My favorite thing is the double cheese,” said Haynes. “It’s just like the perfect balance. It’s not too much, not too little.”
Belly Burger opened last week. After the New Year, Haynes expects that the space will begin hosting events, but they’re using these next few weeks to perfect their service and their burgers.
Belly Burger is open 7 days a week and has a daily Happy Hour from 4-7 p.m. with $1 off drafts, $1 off well drinks, and $5 glasses of wine. You can stay up to date with the restaurant by checking them out on Facebook.
