Backyard Ohio Drive-In Makes National Headlines

An Ohio Grandma made national headlines over the holiday weekend when she made a drive-in theater in her backyard that would make any kid wish for a weekend with Nana!

Sherry Pratt, of North Jackson, Ohio, has a lot of grandkids, nieces, and nephews. During these long summer days when the kids are out of school, she was looking for a way to keep them entertained.

“I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun to have an outdoor movie night?'” said Pratt to ABC News. “So I made these cars out of these little boxes for them. My son is a graphic designer, so I had him make the license plates with their names. Things just kept popping in my head to make it like a real drive-in. We just invited anybody who could make it. I think we had 12 children there.”

If you’re feeling inspired by Pratt’s success but need ideas yourself, don’t underestimate the power of Pinterest. There are dozens of different ways to make your backyard theater a reality.

You’d better start collecting boxes now. A backyard drive-in will have all the neighborhood kids rollin’ up!
