These New Babes At The Zoo Will Definitely Brighten Up Your Work Week

Everybody loves to look at photos of adorable baby animals.

It’s one of those universal things we can all agree on how free food always tastes better than food you pay for, and the fact that there was definitely enough room for Jack on that door. We’re looking at you, Rose.

So in the effort of brightening everyone’s day and bringing us all together for a few moments of unity and unimpeded joy, I wanted to share with you the latest updates from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and The Wilds.

The first babies of the year at the facilities came into the world in January, two dama gazelle calves and a common eland calf. The dama gazelle calves were born to parents Zultan, Layla, and Susie Cruisie. They were born just three days apart, both offspring of dad, Zultan, and haven’t been named yet. For now, they’re just bonding with their mothers in a behind-the-scenes area of the Zoo.

Over at The Wilds, a common eland calf, Donnelly, was born on January 16, 2018. Donnelly is the first eland calf to be born at The Wilds in 17 years. Guests won’t be able to get a closer look at Donnelly until the park re-opens for the season on May 1.

Now that you’ve had your daily dose of warm and fuzzy, feel free to pass it along to any friends having a rough day.
