Ampersand Emporium To Open At CCAD

Columbus College of Art & Design will open their new school store on April 1 at 9 a.m. Ampersand Emporium, a nod to the quirkiness of the grammatic character in the school’s name, is part of a larger plan by the university. The new store is located at 91 Cleveland Ave., on the first floor of the Design Square Apartments.

The swag offered at the store is unique because CCAD’s Student Agency is heavily involved in the designs and ideas that eventually become products. “Part of our new strategic plan is focused on boosting our sense of school pride,” said Chris Mundell, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, in a press release.

“Our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and supporters are proud to be part of the CCAD family — and we want them to be able to show off their connection to the school with clothes, accessories, and other merchandise.”

In addition to traditional school store items like sweatshirts, bumper stickers, and novelty items, Ampersand Emporium will also sell plenty of snacks. The supply store at CCAD will remain open, however, it will only sell art supplies that students need for classes. The Grand Opening of the new store will offer a 10% discount to anyone with a CCAD ID.
