Awesome Date Idea #1 Cocktails at Mouton and then Dancing at Rumba Cafe
I know Sundays aren’t usually the day that comes to mind for the ideal date night but hear me out. Every other Sunday at Rumba Cafe, house band Hoodoo Soul Band, brings down the house with all that oldskool funk, r&b, and soul. Their jam numbers are enough to get anyone’s big toe flopping in their boot, but in case you need a little liquid encouragement, visit Mouton right before for some deliciously crafted cocktails in a very intimate and comfortable environment. So, drink up, sweat it out, and smile— this is a guaranteed recipe for a good time.

Call up to two hours ahead to reserve one of their amazing treatments including a deep tissue massage, aroma therapy, or a hot stone treatment. Afterward, head over to Two Truths for a fun, hip night of drinks and music. It’s just a hop and skip away and they have some amazing jazz and light DJ acts laying down some feel good sounds. Awesome Date Idea #3 Yellow Brick Pizza and Arcade Super Awesome
Looking for something a bit lower maintenance? Say no more, Yellow Brick Pizza has some of the best artisan pizzas in Columbus, perfect for sharing with the sweetie (or, you know, make them get their own). They also offer some pretty killer specials as well as a happy hour for 1/2 off craft beers and $1 off of wines. After you’re all pizza’ed up, head on up stairs to work off those carbs at Arcade Super Awesome. You can choose to play some co-op games to strengthen your bond or play against each other to work off that pent up frustration. Either way, you’re both sure to have a good time while you stuff your faces and game it up.

Awesome Date Idea #4 The Pearl and then Bodega Trivia Night
The Pearl is perhaps one of Columbus’ most well-known supper establishments. With a delicious menu that’s both elegant and approachable, you’ll definitely feel like you’re treating yourself for the night but in an atmosphere that’s sure to put you at ease. Their Southern Fried Chicken dinner gets a lot of hype and for good reason. With its cinnamon sticky bun and green bean casserole, you’re sure to fall in love. Afterward hit up Bodega’s Sunday trivia night for some friendly competition and a few pints of the good stuff.

Awesome Date Idea #5 Authentic Korean at Diaspora and a Foreign Film at Gateway
If you’re really trying to get out there to try new things then get a little taste of international travel right here in Columbus. Stop in for dinner at Diaspora, a quaint and charming Korean Diner close to OSU campus. Their food will surprise you with just how much flavor and authenticity come in each dish. Afterwards, treat yourself to a foreign flick at the nearby Gateway movie theater. They’re always showing international cinema and with October quickly approaching you can catch your fair share of exotic horror flicks. Might I suggest Audition or Oldboy? Just in case you really like watching things that are going to scar you for life.
